Santie Claus
Santie Claus, this is what you call him-not surprisingly as half of your vocabulary ends up having an "ie" tacked on to the end of it.For example, "toesies, footsies, sockies, leggies, skaties, drinkies, blankies..", you get the picture.
Well we got to go and see Santie Claus at the Rec Center today and you did surprisingly well. There was no crying, no fit throwing. You were too hesitant to sit on laps, but you made it up to hold his hand and tell him that you wanted a baby highchair. Seeing how you already have 2 of these I think Santa might have to bring you something else this year!

100 Pounds
Lexie: "Mom I lub(love) you."
Me: "I love you buglet."
Lexie: "I lub you 100 pounds!"
Me: "Wow that's a lot!"
Lexie: "I know!" followed by giggles and a BIG hug.
Usually 100 pounds sounds like too much of anything, but in this case I will take it!

Grandma Great
This past week your Grandma Great passed away. This was the first time that you have experienced a death and I thought that it would be harder than it actually was to be able to explain to you. I know you are still young, but I felt it was important to help you understand what was going on. You didn't understand why grandma was sleeping, but readily accepted that she was in heaven and we would see her again someday. How grateful I am for the knowledge that we can be together forever as a family and that death on this earth does not mark the end. So glad I was able to make this a happy ending when relaying it to you tonight.

Clubhouse
One of the best parts of moving into our new house is watching you and your little neighbor friends having fun playing outside. You have been working hard building a clubhouse this summer and all the kids have loved running out in the field and participating. I love seeing your imaginations at work..not to mention the differences of a boy a girl. If I ask you it is a castle clubhouse, where as Mason tells me it is a jail on most occasions or a hideout from bad guys.
This is you and Mason hard at work on the infamous clubhouse.

Hairs Cut
This pat weekend we were finally able to get your first haircut. You have been insistent that only Brie could cut your hair, and after the fits you have thrown at the dentist and doctors office I was not willing to battle that.
So while we were up at Wolf Creek for the marathon mom bought some scissors and we put Brie to work. You sat perfectly still and were happy to let her cut your hair.
My precious baby girl is really turning into such a beautiful BIG girl. Where has the time gone??

Joy School
This week you started going to joy school with some of the other little neighbor kids. You were so excited to be able to go to preschool and be big like Mason. We got you a little backpack and supplies to take with you and you were ready to go in the morning, even though we didn't start until 1:00pm. Each week you get to go to a different friends house and learn from their mom. Your little friends you are doing it with are Lincoln and Brighton Reutzel, Jack Cherrington, James Lamoreaux, and you. I am so excited for you to learn and know that you will do well. You love learning, reading, coloring and making crafts. I haven't had to put a whole lot of effort into teaching you because you are very self motivated to learn all these things. You love your abc's and figuring out sounds and words which is really awesome considering you are only 3.
Now we just need to learn how to not be so dramatic...

Candyloupe
Lexie: "Mom I lub my candyloupe!"
And that is pretty much what it is to her...candy. She just finished nearly the whole stinkin cantaloupe on her own!
You've Had a Birthday!
This little lady is THREE years old now! Though it seems like you should have been three a LONG time ago as far as I am concerned. The way you talk and act makes me think you are much older. You were potty trained at 2.5 years. You have known your colors since before you turned two and your letters at 2.5. You can spell a few words and can sound out words to figure out what they start with. Your new favorite thing to do is color and write your name.
Socially you are just starting to get interested in playing with friends. You are always a good sport and love to make people happy.
On the otherhand you are DRAMA. I cannot emphasize this enough! You are learning the skills of manipulation and that worries me.If you are not getting the attention that you want/need you will start to run around on your tiptoes saying "I'm tipping! I'm tipping!" Until you fall over or someone picks you up. You have also learned how to get out of situations you don't want to be in by using the line "I'm peeing! I have to go potty!" This one is hit and miss and I really would hate for it to be true. So you have learned to use it to your advantage at church, car trips, stores etc.
But you are still the biggest love bug of all. You are the best cuddler, the best hug giver and know just how to make someone feel like they are loved!
We love you little Buglet!

What's Up in Lou Land
So what is new your little life right now? We have recently moved from our apartment in Vernal into a little twinhome. I didn't realize how much my kiddos loved playing outside until we weren't able to do it very often! You are loving it, riding your bike and scooter and splashing in the water. You just get cuter and cuter and I am so glad that you have grown out of your fussy stage. You are starting to love making new friends and your favorite day of the week is Sunday when you get to go to nursery. You usually include in your nighttime prayers "bwess I can go to nusewy and have fun and have tweats and play with fwiends." You are still always having good dreams filled with "butterflies and Minnie Mouse". Nothing but a girl through and through.

Now I Know My ABC's!
This little Bug sure is catching on to her preschool concepts quickly. You mastered colors shortly after you turned 2 and now at 2 1/2 you have your alphabet down pat! I credit a lot of this to her love of alphabet games and her little computer that tells her the letter and makes the sound when you push it. I am so proud of you and love watching you want to learn and ask questions. Such a fun age watching your mind always at work!
You are also liking the idea of making friends. Sometimes you are really shy and would prefer to sit and color pictures, but the last 2 weeks at the gym you have come out telling me "Mom I talk friends today, I not shy!" (A word I am sure she has learned from me telling her to say 'Hi' and not be shy').

COUPONS?!
Today you came into my bathroom and put on some of my Victoria Secret Lotion.
Lexie: "Mom what this smell like?"
Me: "I don't know what do you think it smells like?"
Lexie: Sniffing her hands, "COUPONS!"
Coupons?! Really, where does she come up with these things?

Parade #3 (for those who are counting)
Antelope Island
All Caged Up
Life Is A Highway
Fourth Fun Continued
After the parade we went back to grandpa and maga's house for a BBQ and fireworks that night. You enjoyed watching fireworks from a distance, and we even got you to hold a sparkler. However, the loud fireworks made you go running, which turned out to be a good defense mechanism. This was the first year they allowed some of the big fireworks to be put off in neighborhoods. Grandpa and bought one and for our grand finale instead of shooting into the sky, it tipped over and went shooting into us, the audience. Talk about going out with a BANG!
Fourth.of. July.
I love this picture because it captures you doing something you do well ALL THE TIME. Tongue out focusing on your candy stash!
Just like your brother you love the parades! The only difference is that nothing holds you back from grabbing all the candy you can, while your brother is a little more cautious. You love seeing the "princesses", and dancing to the music. This year we watched our first parade in Centerville.
FIREWORKS!
Our first night of fireworks for the year! We kept you guys up late and it was well worth it (well at least that night it was, the next day maybe not so much!). We went over to the park across the street and watched with grandpa, maga's and Brie. We got you a little glow in the dark wand-that alone was entertainment. Being able to run around on the grass in the dark was pretty much as cool as sliced bread to you!
4th of July Children's Parade
We decided to join in on the children's parade in Centerville during the week of the Fourth of July. We were all hot and ready to be done before the parade even started, but you were the lucky duck who got to enjoy their ride in the wagon with Braxton.
Cute Brie bought you guys some treats to throw out as we drove down the road, but I think that your mouths caught more than anyone outside the wagon!

TWO [tu:] n;
TWO stinkin years old! My oh my how this past year flew by. You are officially in your terrible twos now but really, this seems to be getting easier with you. Since we were celebrating the number TWO we might as well have TWO parties for you right? And what better way to celebrate a June birthday than with a swimming party. You were all over that and expecially loved the candles and cake!
