Upstart Preschool Graduation

We have never done a formal preschool, mom has always taught you and Mason at home. This year we did a program online along with preschool called upstart. You excelled at it and learned so much. They had a little graduation party and you could not wipe the smile off of your face. We were so proud of you, and you were pretty proud of yourself. Not to mention glad to be done for the summer!

Kindergarten Round Up

YOu were so shy as we did your entrance testing for kindergarten. You scored in the 84% for vocabulary/reading skills and 9/10 for pen to paper skills. I know you are going to do awesome in school! You pick up on things so quickly and are always eager to please.

U'ette Dance Clinic

My. Oh. my. You are one dramatic little girl. I have wanted to put you in dance so badly because I KNOW you will excel at it. You are so little, bendy, flexible and coordinated. On the flip side though, you are super dramatic and stubborn too. If you don't want to do something, it is almost physically impossible to get you to do it. You hate being in front of people and perform. I opted for tumbling this year for this reason- no performances. So far you cry and whine about going every week, but once in the room and the teacher is encouraging you, you do AWESOME! Tumbles, back bends, head stands you name it you are one of the best in your class. But as soon as you are in the car it is back to the same story of "I don't like it!"

Well our neighbor asked if I would sign you up for the drill team dance clinic. I really hesitated doing it because of our track record. I wanted to support her though so we did. It was 3 days of practicing and 1 performance day. IT WAS TORTURE. You cried, pouted and threw fits about going and participating. Once you calmed down you watched and occasionally kicked you leg or did some sort of move. I knew the getting you to perform would be excrutiating. Well we went (Me, Mason, Emma and you) and sure enough there was whining, crying, clinging and all. I finally told you if you would just do your dance so I can see it I will let you get the BIGGEST treat you want after. Well it worked. You let go and slowly wandered over to your teacher. You chewed nervously on your fingernails, and a hair rubberband that was supposed to be tying your shirt back, but you did it! In front of a whole gym full of people! You were so cute and I even got a few smiles out of you! Best part is the HUGE treat you chose was a $.99 frosty at Wendy's. I hope that you can warm up to the idea of performing, because you can do great! Baby steps...

Bye Bye Training Wheels

You have been itching to take your training wheels off so you can ride your bike out in the field with the other kids. I, being lazy, have been a bit reluctant to do so thinking you weren't quite ready. Well once you turned four we decided to let you try on Mason's old bike to see how it would go. You were a natural. We had to practice a couple of time to figure out how to get up and going but once started you could balance and ride all by yourself. Hard to believe you are growing up so much!

Going to a Potty

I overheard you with our neighbor friend having the following conversation. Lexie: "Today I am going to a party. Are you going to the party?" (Let me remind you that your 'r' sound is more like a 'w' still). Jaydin: "Oh I go to the potty every day." Lexie: "Oh ya it will be sooo fun!"

Honey Bunches on a Boat and Rotten Noodles

Lexie: "Mom can I have some more of my favorite cereal?" Mom: "Ya, which is your favorite?" Lexie: "Honey Bunches on a Boat." Oh yes, honey bunches on a boat, who wouldn't want to eat that? And wait it gets better... Lexie: "We should have some rotten noodles mom they are sooooo good. You don't never make those for me!" She tells me this referring to Ramen Noodles though I think her description was more correct than she intended.
